I don’t normally like getting sponsored ads on my social media, especially because so many of them focus more on selling than solving a problem. But as I was scrolling through my Instagram feed today, I was in for a pleasant surprise.

I came across an ad from Amazon Prime Video India, which I remembered they had announced a couple of days earlier as well. I assumed it was another series promo/announcement and didn’t think much of it. But this ad was not a promo. In fact, it requested the opposite of what streaming services usually want us to do.

The ad stars a highly talented actor, Pankaj Tripathi, who plays Khaleen Bhaiyya in one of the most iconic, critically acclaimed Indian web series, Mirzapur.

In this well-written ad, he is in the background as a young girl lazily lies on the couch, binging Mirzapur from morning to night, and again the next morning. Ahem, it’s almost like they know my unhealthy binging habits, but moving on.

Pankaj casually feeds her dog, comically removes the stale old pizza that this girl tries to have as breakfast, and…
