Excellent piece! I remember watching The Notebook so many times and always thinking 'Um..he almost fell off a Ferris wheel to blackmail her into dating him?!' At the end, I assumed it evolved into true love because they seemed far more mature when they were older. But damn, when they were younger, and bickering and yelling, it was so bad. I personally liked Lon and Ally better at one point.
