I Took a Break From Writing but Didn’t Really Miss A Day

Inside the mind of a writer who went ghost-mode for a month

So, over the past few weeks, I kind of stopped publishing here.

This is the first time since I started writing here that I have actually published only one story in one whole month, and that leaves me uneasy, but at the same time, indifferent.

I used to be someone who scoffed at the idea of stopping publishing here because I truly truly love(d) this platform and how much it has given me. I used to think I could never be one of those who stop publishing simply because – “meh”. But sadly, I was.

I did have my reasons though, and I am working on them.

If you are one of those that happened to notice my absence(thank you! UwU) or if you’re contemplating a break yourself, this article may help a little.

1. My creative energy was zapped

I quit my job last year to pursue a creative career and to anyone I say this to now, it may sound obsolete. I’ve had my own parents raise their eyebrows in ridicule –

“Sorry what? You’re too tired to write, what? Isn’t that your job now, to be creative??”
