Naima, I cannot tell you enough how beautiful and heartbreaking this story was. I got tears in my eyes as I read your text, because I could feel your pain and relate to it on levels, and I'm so sorry you felt that way. I'm also stuck in torment over choosing a relatively unstable creative path, and I'm still trying to find what works for me.
